â APAL8 indexed colors with alpha channel
â RGB565 and RGB888 direct colors
â ARGB1555, ARGB4444, and BGRA8888 direct colors with an alpha channel
â YCbCr422 format

⢠Chroma-key blending for anti-mask encoding
⢠Multiple alpha and chroma-key blending modes

⢠Support for Run Length Encoding (RLE) compression
⢠Optimized mode for use with DDR memory
11.1.3 Modes of operation
The DCU3 has four modes of operation:
⢠DCU_OFF: When in this mode, the DCU3 is turned off. All the logic in the design is put in reset
state to reduce power.
⢠NORMAL_MODE: The DCU3 displays and blends the graphics specified by the layer
descriptors.
⢠PDI_MODE: A mode which fetches video from an external video source and combines that with
the graphics configured on the layers.
⢠COLBAR_MODE: Color bar generation for testing purposes.
