1.1 Features of This LSI
This LSI is a single-chip RISC microprocessor that integrates a 32-bit RISC-type SuperH
architecture CPU as its core with a floating point unit (FPU), 64-Kbyte large-capacity cache
memory, 16-Kbyte on-chip memory, an interrupt controller, and other peripherals.
High-speed data transfers can be performed by an on-chip direct memory access controller
(DMAC), and an external memory access support function enables direct connection to different
kinds of memory.
Moreover, this LSI incorporates a 16-bit timer pulse unit (TPU), realtime clock (RTC), compare-
match timer (CMT), stereo audio recording/playback function interface (SIOF), I²C bus interface
(IIC), serial communication interface with FIFO (SCIF), IrDA interface (IrDA), SIM card
interface (SIM), A/D converter (ADC), and D/A converter (DAC).
A powerful built-in power-management function keeps power consumption low, even during
high-speed operation. This LSI is ideal for use in electronic devices such as those for applications
that require both high-speed operation and low power consumption simultaneously.
