Trusted Execution Technology (TXT) is a security initiative that involves the processor,
chipset, and platform. Trusted Execution Technology requires the following support in
the chipset:
• New FSB encodings for LTMW and LTMR cycles
• Measured launch of a VMM, using a TPM
• Protected path from the processor to the TPM, which is enabled by the processor
• Ranges of memory protected from DMA accesses.
