Transmitter Channel Datapath
Table 1–4 shows the core fabric-transceiver interface widths (channel width) and
transceiver PMA-PCS widths (serialization factor) allowed in single-width and
double-width modes.

Transmitter Channel Datapath
The transmitter channel datapath, shown in Figure 1–21, consists of the following
blocks:
■ TX phase compensation FIFO
■ Byte serializer
■ 8B/10B encoder
■ Transmitter output buffer
The HardCopy IV GX transceiver provides the enable low latency PCS mode option
in the ALTGX MegaWizard Plug-In Manager. If you select this option, the 8B/10B
encoder in the datapath is disabled.
