13.4 RTC Operation
13.4.1 Initial Settings of Registers after Power-On
All the registers should be set after the power is turned on.
13.4.2 Setting the Time
Figure 13.2 shows how to set the time when the clock is stopped. This works when the entire
calendar or clock is to be set.
It is easy to set the time using a software program.
To reset the divider circuit (RTC prescaler
and R64CNT) and set the counter
Stop clock,
reset divider circuit
Write 0 to START and 1 to
RESET in the RCR2 register
Set seconds, minutes,
hour, day, day of the
week, month and year
Order is irrelevant
Start clock
Write 1 to START in the
RCR2 register
