 Command (one byte): Commands including inquiries, selection, programming, erasing, and
checking
 Response (one byte): Response to an inquiry
 Size (one or two bytes): The amount of data for transmission excluding the command,
amount of data, and checksum
 Data (n bytes): Detailed data of a command or response
 Checksum (one byte): The checksum is calculated so that the total of all values from the
command byte to the SUM byte becomes H'00.
 Error Response (one byte): Error response to a command
 Error Code (one byte): Type of the error
 Address (four bytes): Address for programming
 Data (n bytes): Data to be programmed. n is indicated in the response to the programming
unit inquiry.
 Data Size (four bytes): Four-byte response to a memory read
• Inquiry/Selection State
The boot program returns information from the flash memory in response to the host's inquiry
commands and sets the device code, clock mode, and bit rate in response to the host's selection
command.
