19.5 Port C
Input/Output (I/O) Ports
Port C
Port C is an 7-bit special-function port that shares six of its pins with the
analog-to-digital converter (ADC) module. (See Section 13. Analog-to-
Digital Converter (ADC).)
19.5.1 Port C Data Register
The port C data register (PTC) contains a data latch for each of the
seven port C pins.

PTC[6:0] — Port C Data Bits
These read/write bits are software-programmable. Data direction of
each port C pin is under the control of the corresponding bit in data
direction register C. Reset has no effect on port C data.
ADC[5:0] — Analog-to-Digital Input Pins
ADC[5:0] are pins used for the input channels to the analog-to-digital
converter module. The channel select bits, ADCH[4:0], in the ADC
Status and Control Register define which port C pin will be used as
an ADC input and overrides any control from the port I/O logic. (See
19.5.3 Port C Options and Section 13. Analog-to-Digital
Converter (ADC).)
