Bit
Symbol Description
31 to 24
POTPGT PowerOnToPowerGoodTime: This byte speciï¬es the duration HCD
[7:0]
has to wait before accessing a powered-on port of the Root Hub. It is
implementation-speciï¬c (IS). The unit of time is 2 ms. The duration is
calculated as POTPGT Ã 2 ms.

NOCP NoOverCurrentProtection: This bit describes how the overcurrent
status for the Root Hub ports are reported. When this bit is cleared, the
OverCurrentProtectionMode (OCPM) ï¬eld speciï¬es global or per-port
reporting.
0 â overcurrent status is collectively reported for all downstream ports
1 â no overcurrent reporting supported
11
OCPM OverCurrentProtectionMode: This bit describes how the overcurrent
status for the Root Hub ports are reported. At reset, this ï¬eld should
reï¬ect the same mode as PowerSwitchingMode. This ï¬eld is valid only
if the NoOverCurrentProtection (NOCP) ï¬eld is cleared.
0 â overcurrent status is reported collectively for all downstream ports
1 â overcurrent status is reported on a per-port basis. On power up,
clear this bit and then set it to logic 1
10
DT
DeviceType: This bit speciï¬es that the Root Hub is not a compound
device; it is not permitted. This ï¬eld should always read as 0.
9
NPS
NoPowerSwitching: This bit is used to specify whether power
switching is supported or ports are always powered. It is
implementation speciï¬c. When this bit is cleared, the
PowerSwitchingMode (PSM) bit speciï¬es global or per-port switching.
0 â ports are power switched
1 â ports are always powered on when the HC is powered on
