Section 12 A/D Converter
12.1 Overview
The H8/3834 Series includes on-chip a resistance-ladder-based successive-approximation analog-
to-digital converter, and can convert up to 12 channels of analog input.
12.1.1 Features
The A/D converter has the following features.
• 8-bit resolution
• 12 input channels
• Conversion time: approx. 12.4 µs per channel (at 5 MHz operation)
• Built-in sample-and-hold function
• Interrupt requested on completion of A/D conversion
• A/D conversion can be started by external trigger input
12.1.2 Block Diagram
Figure 12.1 shows a block diagram of the A/D converter.
