The SCCR2 register provides the control bits that enable or disable individual SCI functions.
TIE â Transmit interrupt enable
1 (set) â SCI interrupt requested when TDRE status ï¬ag is set.
0 (clear) â TDRE interrupts disabled.
TCIE â Transmit complete interrupt enable

1 (set) â SCI interrupt requested when TC status ï¬ag is set.
0 (clear) â TC interrupts disabled.
RIE â Receiver interrupt enable
1 (set) â SCI interrupt requested when RDRF ï¬ag or the OR status ï¬ag is set.
0 (clear) â RDRF and OR interrupts disabled.
ILIE â Idle line interrupt enable
1 (set) â SCI interrupt requested when IDLE status ï¬ag is set.
0 (clear) â IDLE interrupts disabled.
TE â Transmitter enable
1 (set) â Transmitter enabled.
0 (clear) â Transmitter disabled.
RE â Receiver enable
1 (set) â Receiver enabled.
0 (clear) â Receiver disabled.
RWU â Receiver wake-up control
1 (set) â Wake-up enabled and receiver interrupts inhibited.
0 (clear) â Normal SCI receiver.
SBK â Send break
1 (set) â Break codes generated as long as SBK is set.
0 (clear) â Break generator off.
