A.3.2
Query Structure Overview
The Query command causes the PCM component to display the Common Flash
Interface (CFI) Query structure or “database.” The structure sub-sections and address
locations are summarized below.
Offset
Sub-Section Name
00000h
00001h
(BA+2)h(2) Block Status register
00004-Fh Reserved
00010h CFI query identification string
0001Bh System interface information
00027h Device geometry definition
P(3) Primary Intel-specific Extended
Query Table
De s cr iption(1)
Manufacturer Code
Device Code
Block-specific information
Reserved for vendor-specific information
Command set ID and vendor data offset
Device timing & voltage information
Flash device layout
Vendor-defined additional information specific
to the Primary Vendor Algorithm
Notes:
1.
Refer to the Query Structure Output section and offset 28h for the detailed definition of offset address as a function of
device bus width and mode.
2.
BA = Block Address beginning location (i.e., 08000h is block 1’s beginning location when the block size is 32K-word).
3.
Offset 15 defines “P” which points to the Primary Numonyx-specific Extended Query Table.
A.3.3
CFI Query Identification String
The Identification String provides verification that the component supports the
Common Flash Interface specification. It also indicates the specification version and
supported vendor-specified command set(s).
