The XRT79L71 can be configured to operate in any of the following modes.
• The Clear-Channel DS3/E3 Framer Mode
• The High-Speed HDLC Controller over DS3/E3 Mode
• The ATM UNI over DS3/E3 Mode
• The PPP over DS3/E3 Mode
The detailed functional description of the XRT79L71, that covers these four modes of operation, can be found
in various documents as presented below in Table 2.
