19.3 Transfer Function
The transfer functions of the A/D Converter in 12-bit
resolution are shown in Figure 19-3. The difference of
the input voltages (VINH â VINL) is compared to the
reference ((VR+) â (VR-)).
⢠The first code transition occurs when the input
voltage is ((VR+) â (VR-))/4096 or 1.0 LSb.
⢠The â0000 0000 0001â code is centered at
VR- + (1.5 * ((VR+) â (VR-))/4096).
⢠The â0010 0000 0000â code is centered at
VREFL + (2048.5 * ((VR+) â (VR-))/4096).
⢠An input voltage less than
VR- + (((VR-) â (VR-))/4096) converts as
â0000 0000 0000â.
⢠An input voltage greater than
(VR-) + (4095 ((VR+) â (VR-))/4096) converts as
â1111 1111 1111â.
