DESCRIPTION
The LP3918 is a fully integrated charger and multi-
regulator unit designed for CDMA cellular phones.
The LP3918 contains a Li-Ion battery charger, 7 low
noise low dropout (LDO) voltage regulators and a
high-speed serial interface to program on/off
conditions and output voltages of individual
regulators, and also to read status information from
the PMU.
The Li-Ion charger integrates a power FET, reverse
current blocking diode, sense resistor with current
monitor output, and requires only a few external
components. Charging is thermally regulated to
obtain the most efficient charging rate for a given
ambient temperature.
LDO regulators provide high PSRR and low noise
ideally suited for supplying power to both analog and
digital loads.
