Figure 14 Display Control
VLE2â1: When VLE1 = 1, a vertical scroll is performed in the 1st screen. When VLE2 = â1â, a vertical
scroll is performed in the 2nd screen. Vertical scrolling on the two screens can be independently
controlled.
SPT: When SPT = 1, the 2-division LCD drive is performed. For details, see the Screen-division
Driving Function section.
B/W: When B/W = â1â, displayed data can be âallâ or âall offâ regardless GRAM contents. (B/W = â1â,
REV = â0â: all pixel on, B/W = â1â, REV = â1â: all pixel off) When B/W = â1â, grayscale palette has to
be default value.
REV: Displays all character and graphics display sections with reversal when REV = 1. For details, see
the Reversed Display Function section. Since the grayscale level can be reversed, display of the same
data is enabled on normally-white and normally-black panels.
D1â0: Display is on when D1 = â1â and off when D1 = 0. When off, the display data remains in the
GRAM, and can be displayed instantly by setting D1 = â1â. When D1 is â0â, the display is off with all
of the SEG/COM pin outputs set to the GND level. Because of this, the HD66766R can control the
charging current for the LCD with AC driving.
When D1â0 = â01â, the internal display of the HD66766R is performed although the display is off.
When D1-0 = â00â, the internal display operation halts and the display is off.

Notes: 1. Writing from the microcomputer to the GRAM is independent from the state of D1â0.
2. In the sleep and standby modes, D1â0 = 00. However, the register contents of D1â0 are not modified.
