xii) EEPROM Contents
The contents of EEPROM are primarily dependent on the specifications of the LCD panel.
SmartASIC provides suggested EEPROM contents for LCD panels from various panel
manufacturers. The section presents all the entries in the EEPROM, and briefly describes their
definitions. This allows the system manufacturers to have their own EEPROM contents to
distinguish their monitors.
The EEPROM contents can be partitioned into 16 parts. The first 14 parts are input mode
dependent. When the SD1010D detects the input mode, it will then load the information related
to the detected mode from the EEPROM. The information in the 15th part is mainly for input
mode detection as well as some threshold values for error status indicators. The 16th part is the
look up table for the gamma correction function.
The 15th and 16th part are loaded in the SD1010D during the reset time.
In the default setting, the SD1010D is set to recognize the following seven modes: 640x350,
640x400, 720x400, 640x480, 800x600, 832x624, and 1024x768 modes. Then the EEPROM
will be partitioned as follows:
