2. All digital circuits can oscillate or trigger prematurely when input rise and fall times are very long. When the input signal to a device is at or near
the switching threshold, noise on the line will be amplified and can cause oscillation which, if the frequency is low enough, can cause subsequent
stages to switch and give erroneous results. For this reason, Schmitt-triggers are recommended if rise/fall times are likely to exceed 250ns at
VCC = 4.5V.
