2.5.8 I/O Configuration Menu (cont.)
The I/O Configuration menu is used to configure the discrete relay output, 4–20 mA output, and
communication parameters of the Sentinel II.
The menu is divided into two tables: Discrete output settings; and 4–20 mA/communications settings.
2.5.8.2 Setting 4–20 mA and communications output
Following is a step-by-step procedure for setting the 4–20 mA and communications output. It is
assumed that you are beginning at the RUN mode.

This is the RUN mode.
Press the down arrow until the display reads
I/O Config.
Select to use (enable) or bypass (disable) the
4–20 mA output.
Enter the level of the desired 4 mA output.
Enter the level of the desired 20 mA output.
Select the state of the 4–20 mA Output in the event
of a unit fault. Use the arrow keys to select the fault
option (3.5 mA, 22 mA, or HOLD).
Press ENT.
Set a specific address for this device when used
with a digital communications protocol.
This is the I.D. byte used to select this particular
unit during polling.
The selection options are 300, 1200, 4800, 9600.
The selection options are Odd, Even, or None.
Press ENT. Press DEL twice to return to the
RUN mode.
