Installation guidelines
Install the unit
• If the unit is installed in an enclosed communications rack, the
recommended maximum ambient temperature is 45°C.
• Install the unit and the included probe so that the amount of air
flow required for safe operation of the equipment is not
compromised.
• Install the unit and the included probe so that there is not an uneven
mechanical load.
• Follow the nameplate ratings when connecting equipment to the
supply circuit. Do not overload the circuits. An overload condition
could put the over-current protection at risk and cause problems
with the supply wiring.
• Maintain reliable earth grounding of the unit. Give particular
consideration to any supply connections that do not directly
connect to the branch circuit.
Install the unit in a NetShelter^® or other standard 19-inch enclosure:
1. Attach the brackets (provided) to the unit, using four screws.
2. Choose a location for the unit.
Note
The Environmental Monitoring Unit occupies one U-space.
The numbers on the enclosure’s vertical rail denote the
middle of a U-space.
