10.1 Layout Guidelines
The bq2022A only has one signal (SDQ). Best practice is to route the signal trace directly from the SDQ pin of
bq2022A to the external connector of the application system or to host SDQ master device. Signal trace should
be shielded properly with a parallel ground plane. If possible use two vias per VSS pin to reach the ground plane

trace surrounding most of the device and have a trace leaving the VSS pin that is adjacent to SDQ pin so that it
follows the SDQ trace back to the SDQ master interface pins Figure 23.
