8. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
8.6.9 SCI HDAT0 and SCI HDAT1 (R)
For WAV ï¬les, SCI HDAT1 contains 0x7665 (âveâ). SCI HDAT0 contains the data rate in double word
increments for all supported RIFF WAVE formats: mono and stereo 8-bit or 16-bit PCM, mono and
stereo IMA ADPCM. To get the byte rate of the ï¬le, multiply the value by 4. To get the bit rate of the
ï¬le, multiply the value by 32. Note: usage of SCI HDAT0 with WAV ï¬les has changed from VS1003.
For AAC ADTS streams, SCI HDAT1 contains 0x4154 (âATâ). For AAC ADIF ï¬les, SCI HDAT1 con-
tains 0x4144 (âADâ). For AAC .mp4 / .m4a ï¬les, SCI HDAT1 contains 0x4D34 (âM4â). SCI HDAT0
contains the average data rate in bytes per second. To get the bit rate of the ï¬le, multiply the value by 8.
For WMA ï¬les, SCI HDAT1 contains 0x574D (âWMâ) and SCI HDAT0 contains the data rate measured
in bytes per second. To get the bit rate of the ï¬le, multiply the value by 8.
for MIDI ï¬les, SCI HDAT1 contains 0x4D54 (âMTâ) and SCI HDAT0 contains the average data rate in
bytes per second. To get the bit rate of the ï¬le, multiply the value by 8. Note: usage of SCI HDAT0 with
MIDI has changed from VS1003.
For MP3 ï¬les, SCI HDAT1 is between 0xFFE0 and 0xFFFF. SCI HDAT1 / 0 contain the following:
