State description
State OFF
All CAN transceivers, monitors, pin INH and local wake up pin WK are disabled. PWON flag is set to high. All
registers are set to their default values.
If VVS > VVS,PU device enters state STANDBY automatically.
State STANDBY
This state is a low power state. Pin INH is switched to VS so an external voltage regulator can be switched on.
CAN transceivers are disabled and cannot be enabled in this state.
Local wake up function and remote wake up function can be configured.
Pins RXD and INTN reflect any wake up request. A transition to state SLEEP is prohibited if a wake up request is
pending.
State ACTIVE
Only in this state CAN communication can be performed after configuration using SPI.
Pin INH is switched to VS so an external voltage regulator can be switched on.
Local wake up function and remote wake up function can be configured.
Pins RXD and INTN reflect any wake up request. A transition to state SLEEP is prohibited if a wake up request is
pending.
State SLEEP
This state is a low power state. Pin INH is set to tristate so an external voltage regulator is switched off except
configured differently in CFG.INH.
CAN transceivers are disabled and cannot be enabled in this state.
Local wake up function is enabled. Remote wake up function can be configured. Since configuration depends on
availability of VIO this should be performed in the previous state.
Voltage monitors observing VIO and VCC are switched off in this state.
Any wake up request changes state to STANDBY automatically.
Entering state SLEEP with no wake up source selected enables all wake up sources automatically.
If VIO is present a state change via SPI can be performed.
Flag description
UVVCC flag
In case of undervoltage occurence at pin VCC state changes to STANDBY, except in state SLEEP.
Since undervoltage monitor is switched off in state SLEEP an undervoltage condition can be signalized in register
SUPPLY_STAT and in status byte.
UVVIO flag
In case of undervoltage occurence at pin VIO state changes to SLEEP except PWON flag is set. In that case state
does not change.
If undervoltage at pin VIO was the reason for state transition to SLEEP and VIO recovers to level above VUV,VIO
system state changes to STANDBY after tVIO,UV,REC automatically.
Since undervoltage monitor is switched off in state SLEEP an undervoltage condition can be signalized in register
SUPPLY_STAT and in status byte.
UVVS flag
In case of undervoltage occurence at pin VS state changes to STANDBY, except in state SLEEP.
Since undervoltage monitor is switched off in state SLEEP an undervoltage condition can be signalized in register
SUPPLY_STAT and in status byte.
PWON flag
PWON flag is reset in state NORMAL or via reading register SUPPLY_STAT.
