2.22.2 LED Functionality
If the LEDs are controlled by the PHY, then the activity of the LEDs is determined by the state of the PHY. Each
LED can be programmed to indicate various PHY states, with variable blink rate. There are four modes of link LED
operation when the LEDs are controlled by the state of the PHY.
• Register 24.5:3 = 000 (Direct LED mode)
• Register 24.5:3 = 001, 010, 011, 100, 111 (Combined LED modes. There are three different combined LED
modes as described below.)
2.22.2.1 Direct Drive Link LED Mode
When register 24.5:3 = ‘000’, LED output is in direct drive LED mode.
