9.2.2 Detailed Design Procedure
To begin the design process, the designer must decide on a few parameters, as follows:
⢠Vsupply: LED supply voltage
⢠VDx: LED forward voltage
⢠I: LED current
With these parameters determined, the resistor in series with the LED can be calculated by using the following
equation:
RX = (VSupply - VDx ) / I
