debugging considerations
It is recommended that external connections be provided to peripheral selection/device configuration pins,
including HD[14, 8, 4, 3], and CLKMODE0. Although internal pullup resistors exist on these pins, providing
external connectivity adds convenience to the user in debugging and flexibility in switching operating modes.
Internal pullup/pulldown resistors also exist on the non-configuration pins on the HPI data bus (HD[15, 13:9,
7:5, 2:0]. For proper device operation of the HD[15, 13:9, 7, 1, 0], do not oppose the internal pullup/pulldown
resistors on these non-configuration pins with external pullup/pulldown resistors. If an external controller
provides signals to these HD[15, 13:9, 7, 1, 0] non-configuration pins, these signals must be driven to the default
state of the pins at reset, or not be driven at all. For a list of routed out, 3-stated, or not-driven pins recommended
for external pullup/pulldown resistors, and internal pullup/pulldown resistors for all device pins, etc., see the
Terminal Functions table. However, the HD[6, 5, 2] non-configuration pins can be opposed and driven during
reset.
