Functional Description

Operating Modes
The TLE7258D has 3 major operation modes (see Figure 4):

TxD driven by the microcontroller
1) The TxD input is disabled in Sleep mode and the internal pull-up current source is switched off (see Figure 1).
2) A pull-up resistor to the external microcontroller supply is required.
3) In case the TxD input is open the state is internally set to logical âhighâ through the internal pull-up current source.

1) Wake-up Source:
RxD: logical âhighâ after Power-up
RxD: logical âlowâ after BUS Wake-up detection
An external pull-up resistor to the external microcontroller supply is required for the Wake-up or Power-up indication
2) TxD: The TxD input is disabled and the pull-up current source is switched off
3) RxD: The RxD output is âhighâ because of the external pull-up resistor
