Modem
The NCN49597 is a powerful spread frequency shift keying
(SâFSK) communication systemâonâchip (SoC) designed for
communication in hostile environments.
It combines a low power ARM Cortex M0 processor with a high
precision analogue front end. Based on 4800 baud SâFSK
dualâchannel technology, it offers an ideal compromise between speed
and robustness.
Pinâcompatible with its predecessor, the AMISâ49587, this new
generation chip extends the communication frequency range up to the
CENELEC D band for use in applications such as eâmetering, home
automation and street lighting. The NCN49597 benefits for more than
10 years of field experience in eâmetering and delivers innovative
features such as a smart synchronization and inâband statistics.
Fully reprogrammable, the modem can be updated in the field.
Multiple royaltyâfree firmware options are available from
ON Semiconductor; refer to the separate datasheets for details. The
configurable GPIOs allow connecting peripherals such as LCDs or
metering ICs.
