1.2 SMOS EVM Motor Board Introduction
Motorola’s SMARTMOSTM 33395 evaluation motor board
(SMOS EVM motor board) is a 12-volt, 8-amp power stage that is an
integral part of Motorola’s embedded motion control series of
development tools. It is also supplied as a kit. In combination with one of
the embedded motion-control series control or evaluation boards, it
provides a ready-made development platform for brushless dc motors.
The motor can be controlled using Hall sensors, an optical encoder or
sensorless techniques. An illustration of system configurations is shown
in Figure 1-1. Figure 1-2 depicts the board layout.
