2.3. Linearization
Capacitive relative humidity sensors require linearization. The TH02 accuracy specification applies after correction
of non-linearity errors. The recommended linearization technique is to correct the measured relative humidity
value with a 2nd order polynomial; the linear relative humidity (RH) value is calculated as follows:
RH_Linear = RH_Value – ((RH_Value)² × A₂ + RH_Value × A₁ + A₀)
Where:
RH_Linear is the corrected relative humidity value in %RH
RH_Value is the uncorrected (measured) relative humidity value in %RH
A₂, A₁, and A₀ are unit-less correction coefficients derived through characterization of TH02s
their values depend on whether compensation for a typical solder reflow is required
The values for the correction coefficients are shown in Table 8.
