1. INTRODUCTION
NOTE
This product is for use in a restricted access
location only.

This instruction sheet provides installation guidelines
for TE Connectivity Active Cables with TE-AC01 or
TE-AC02 prefix QSFP connectors. Proper handling
procedures should be exercised when transporting or
installing the cables. Operation of the product must be
maintained within the 0° to 70°C [32° to 158°F]
operating case temperature range. This product is for
use in a controlled environment or central office (CO)
per GR-468 section 1.5.3.1.

controls.

1. Correctly align the QSFP plug with the receptacle
as shown in Figure 1A.
2. Insert the plug into the receptacle until it bottoms.
See Figure 1B.
3. To remove the plug from the receptacle, pull back
on the “pull tab” in the indicated direction until it is
removed as shown in Figure 1C.
3. HANDLING
Maximum bend radius of the optical cable per ICEA-
596 in the unloaded and install condition is 29 mm and
in the loaded condition during installation is 58 mm.
This product is classified as a Class 1M Laser product
in accordance with IEC 60825-1:2007 and complies
with 21CFR 1040.10 and 1040-11 except for
deviations pursuant to laser notice No. 50, dated
24-Jun-2007. Maximum power of 700uW is measured
using two fibers.

2. INSTALLATION GUIDELINES FOR QSFP STYLE
CONNECTOR ENDS
Refer to Figure 1 for installation of QSFP style
connectors.
