48-Port Blade for Optilinx^™ Series Optical Switch
The 48-port SFP interface blade is easily inserted into
any OLX-3000 Mainframe Optical Switch,
accommodating any standard Small Form Pluggable
(SFP) laser for absolute flexibility, inventory control, and
reduced down-time. Model SFPB-4800-IC supports up to
2.5 Gbps per port. Model SFPB-4800-RT-IC supports up
to 4.25 Gbps per port.
System Design
The SFPB-4800, when used with the Optilinx^™ OLX-3000,
enables high-speed Optical Switching between all 48
ports. Each port can accommodate an SFP module up to
4.25Gbps per port. Since each SFP provides for female
Tx and Rx LC connections, each Port can accommodate
bi-directional transmission, allowing up to 96
connections via one single SFPB-4800 blade. Up to 3
blades can be inserted in any Optilinx^™ OLX-3000
Mainframe, enabling up to 144 Ports, or 288
connections, via the single compact 4RU switch.
Different types of SFP transceivers support a variety
of network configurations.
