.-A-3T SWITCHING TYPES
.VHLiiTA^Y - AEROSPACE
These are passivated planar PNPN controlled
switches, available in both TO-18 and TO-46 standard
packages, intended for use in military and space
applications requiring a high degree of reliability.
They offer a unique combination of extremely fast
switching, high pulse power, small size, intrinsic
parameter stability, and improved radiation tolerance.
The fast switching characteristics of these types make
them particularly useful for ring counters; high cur-
rent pulse generation and gating; as well as safety
arming and detonating circuits; programming circuits;
protective and warning circuits; driving relays; driv-
ing indicator lamps, encoding and decoding circuits;
replacing relays, thyratrons, and megamps; servo
motor control; pulse generation; plus many others.
The high surge -current rating (5 amps — 50 ms)
makes this series useful for squib firing. SSPI Bulletin
D420:02 covers many CS applications in detail.
