To minimize parasitic effects, and improve performance:
ï· Place the crystal as close as possible to the IC.
ï· Make the board traces that are connected to the crystal pins symmetrical.
ï· The board trace symmetry is important, as it reduces the negative parasitic effects to produce a clean
frequency multiplication with low jitter. Parasitic effects reduce frequency pulling of the VCXO and
increase jitter.
