Test & Ship Location Change for Products Currently Tested at
Skyworks, Mexicali and STATSChipPAC, San Diego
Dear Valued Customer:
This notification is for the purpose of informing you of a change by Mindspeed Technologies in the final
test locations for the products currently tested at Skyworks, a final test subcontractor in Mexicali, Mexico
and STATSChipPAC, a final test subcontractor in San Diego, California. In conjunction with final test
changes, Amkor Philippines will also perform lead-scan, bake, pack (including tape and reel when
requested) and ship.
Purpose
The purpose of the move from Skyworks, Mexicali is due to the closure of their QFP and PLCC assembly
and test operation. The exact tester, load boards and sockets are being transferred to Amkor Philippines.
This tester move also allows Mindspeed to add Amkor Philippines as a second test source for product
currently tested at STATSChipPAC in San Diego This will improve test capacity cycle time by testing
products where they are assembled. This also allows more immediate feedback from test to the
assembly line as well as reduces the number of subcontractors handling the product. There are no
changes to the test system including test hardware, software programs, and test specifications.
