Product Descriptions – LTC5800-IPR
Based on the ITEF 6LoWPAN and IEEE 802.15.4e Standards, the LTC5800-IPR SmartMesh IP embedded network manager-on-chip
anchors the SmartMesh IP product line. It serves not only as a wireless-to-wired access point, but more importantly provides the core
networking functionality, enabling the network to achieve unsurpassed levels of resiliency, reliability, and scalability. The LTC5800-IPR
continuously optimizes the network and provides robustness in the face of constantly changing RF environments. Furthermore, the network
manager’s load balancing algorithms add more bandwidth for the busiest motes while maintaining traffic flow for the rest of the network.
The LTC5800-IPR combines Dust Networks’ robust sensor networking solution with Dust’s breakthrough EternaTM SoC Technology in an
easy-to-integrate 72-pin 10 mm x 10 mm QFN package. As part of the SmartMesh IP system, the LTC5800-IPR enables customers to
integrate a standards-based wireless network into sensors and actuators to provide scalable bidirectional communications.
The manager offers a comprehensive application programming interface (API) via a UART interface, providing full visibility and control
over network configuration, security administration, network status, and performance statistics. The LTC5800-IPR integrates all radio
circuitry components and requires only an AC coupling capacitor and an antenna for robust wireless connectivity. With its combination of
low power, compact easy-to-integrate form factor, and sophisticated network management, the LTC5800-IPR embedded network manager
is ideally suited for deploying resilient, reliable mesh networks in a wide variety of environments and applications.
