The GCSS5580 is an anti-parallel-SCR-based static switch especially designed for power factor
improvement applications. Its main features are the soft turn-on which allows the insertion of the
capacitor bank without voltage or current transients and the capability to work at high frequency
allowing a better control on the power factor. The design is extremely compact an light weight.
