PRODUCT PREVIEW
TS55101
Version 0.5
High Efficiency 2A Li-Ion Battery Charger
DESCRIPTION
The TS55101 is a DC/DC synchronous switching
Li-ion Battery Charger with fully integrated power
switches, internal compensation, and full fault
protection. The switching frequency of 1MHz
enables the use of small filter components,
resulting in smaller board space and reduced BOM
costs.
The TS55101 utilizes constant current trickle
charge in Pre-Charge mode. In Full-Charge mode
the output current is limited to 1C. Under Top-Off
mode load conditions, the regulator operates in
voltage mode. When the regulator is disabled (EN
is low), the device draws less than 10uA quiescent
current from the battery.
The TS55101 integrates a wide range of protection
circuitry; including input supply under-voltage
lockout, output over-voltage protection, current
limit, thermal shutdown, and battery temperature
monitoring. Supervisory reporting is done through
the nFLT (Inverted Fault) open drain output to
interface other components in the system. Device
programming is achieved by an I2C interface
through SCL and SDA pins.
