The FW-8756 is our first mid-
range appliance compatible with
Lanner’s 8800 Series Networking
Modules. Attached via PCIe (x)8
slot, these removable trays attach
through the front of the appli-
ance. There are over 10 different
trays to choose from, ranging
between 2 and 8 ethernet ports.

Management and Networking
This appliance comes with 6 GbE
and 1 FE network port. The 6
GbE each support bypass.
The 1 FE port has a separate net-
work controller that enables the
port to be used for management
of the appliance, allowing the
end user to manage this appli-
ance remotely.
Choose Your Own Processor
The FW-8756 comes with the
ability to use up to 5 different
Intel LGA775 Socket CPUs. By
picking the appropriate proces-
sor, you can tune the processing
power and energy consumption
to your requirements.
Generation 3 Bypass
Generation 3 bypass is a Lanner
design created by our engineers
to give end users absolute control
over bypass functionality, allow-
ing control over the bypass ports
even when the platform is in a
powering on/off stage.

Watchdog
The embedded watchdog moni-
tors the system so that it can
automatically trigger a reset if
software hangs. This is an essen-
tial feature of a network appli-
ance.

The FW-8756 comes with a
Mini PCI Socket for expansion.
