This is a simple but effective portable
gauging system for determining the level
of water in boreholes up to a maximum
depth of 200 metres.
The probe is lowered down the hole, by
unwinding the cable reel, until such time
as the signal is activated on the reel. The
depth can then be read off the cable,
which is marked with the length at 10 cm
intervals.
This requires no external power source, as
it is powered by an internal battery.
