At Bel Stewart, we are constantly reviewing our connector designs and upgrading them so that we
can provide the best possible product to the market. We have recently evaluated our horizontal
and angled series of SS-60300 CAT6a jacks and have identified a change we plan to make to the
product:
Plating change to remove gold flash plating from non-essential areas of the contact
array.
• This change is in response to the ever increasing cost of gold and our efforts to
minimize any product cost increases associated with rising commodity prices.
• The new plating specification will eliminate gold flash plating in areas outside of the
plug / jack contact zone and solder tail zones.
Since this will not affect plating at the plug / jack interface or the solder tails, we do not
anticipate any mechanical or electrical changes to the connector as a result of these changes. We
plan to implement the design changes after May 1^st 2013. The date modified product starts
shipping will depend upon customer demand and stock levels at that time. If you have any issues
with these changes, contact your local Bel Stewart Sales representative, otherwise we will
consider this change acceptable and move forward with the implementation.
