DESCRIPTION
The Bel 0804-5000-23 single in line package (SIP) module is an industrial temperature rated
MAC/PHY/AFE Powerline communications (PLC) transceiver. The module complements the existing
range of Bel Powerline modules based on the Qualcomm Atheros AR6400/AR1400 and is optimised for
communications over coax networks.
The Bel 0804-5000-23 module enables the development of HD grade communications bridges to and
from the coax network. It also serves as a translator between the digital and analogue worlds. On the
digital side host interfaces include Ethernet MII Host or PHY. The data received and transmitted is
translated by the AR6400 to and from a complex analogue signal which is modulated on multiple carriers
and transmitted over the coax network.
