ED8101 Datasheet, PDF (1/23 Pages) Altera Corporation – Single-Rail PWM controller
Description
The ED8101 is a configurable true-digital single-
phase PWM controller for high-current, non-isolated
DC/DC supplies. It is optimally configured for use
with the Altera ET4040 40A Power Train.
The ED8101 integrates a digital control loop that is
optimized for maximum flexibility and stability as
well as load step and steady-state performance. In
addition, a rich set of protection functions is
provided. On-chip, non-volatile memory (NVM) and
an I2CTM interface facilitate configuration.
The PC-based Altera ED81xx Power Designer
provides a user-friendly and easy-to-use interface
to the device for communication and configuration.
It can guide the user through the design of the
digital compensator and offers intuitive
configuration methods for additional features, such
as protection and sequencing.
Reference solutions are available complete with
layout recommendations, example circuit board
layouts, complete bill of materials and more.
