Pre-black anodized product replaced with fully anodized product
Products Affected: See Appendix A
Description of the Change: We are unable to offer pre-plated (black anodized) stamped product.
We will now offer same stamping entirely anodized after the stamping process. We will be using
existing tooling and equipment for the fully anodized product as we used for the pre-black anodized
product. The only difference will be that the new offering will not have the raw (un-anodized) edges
that our “PB” (pre-black) product had, otherwise form-fit-function, the parts are identical.
Scheduling of Change:
Sample Date: Sample and production availability will be 6-8 weeks from approval date.
Volume Production: This change will allow us to use raw coil which has a much shorter lead
time vs. pre-black anodized coil
EOL of pre-black product: Immediately
Customer Impact: This is a part number and appearance change. Please update your internal
documentation to reflect the change from “PB” suffix to “B” suffix and amend all purchase orders with
Aavid-Thermalloy to reflect the new part number. In some cases, we may still have the ability to
produce one last lot of the pre-black anodized product; contact your customer service representative
for details.
